Something I have personally struggled with in the past was how to get uniform cupcakes. Nothing is more frustrating than spending the time making one of your favorite cupcake batters, putting it in the oven, waiting for them to cook, and then upon pulling them out of the oven, realizing that your cupcakes are all over the place. Some of the cupcakes are too short, most are overflowing out of the cups, and you get a couple of perfect ones if you are lucky. Well no more! I am here to share how to get the perfect pan of uniform cupcakes.
The secret is…a scoop! This one tool can do wonders for a baker. Different sized scoops can be used for lots of different projects around the kitchen. Cookies, truffles, and even batters benefit from the use of a scoop. The perfect sized scoop for a uniform batch of cupcakes is a large scoop. A large scoop holds approximately 3 tablespoons of batter. By using the scoop, you can properly control how much batter is being put into each cupcake liner. Make sure you are leveling off the batter in the scoop. Don’t overfill it!
The satisfaction you get when you pull out a batch of cupcakes and they have the perfect domes is undeniable. Anyone have any other tricks to getting uniform sized cupcakes? Let me know in the comments below!
